Collaboration for Research, Improvement and Training in Critical Care in Asia-Africa (CCAA): A Wellcome funded network.

CCAA is a Wellcome funded LMIC-led collaborative network in 17 low and lower middle income countries. Its aim is to improve outcomes for critically ill patients, using near real-time high quality data to drive service improvement, clinical research and new evidence generation. At its core is a distributed network of cloud based registries, each contributing to a harmonised data set and with capacity to enable clinical research and continuous quality improvement.

The GenOMICC study works in close partnership with CCAA to build research capacity across the network, and ultimately advance understanding and treatment of critical illness.

GenOMICC in Pakistan

Recruitment to GenOMICC is easy and urgent. We need to do this at very large scale in order to get fast answers that may alter the delivery of critical care medicine. International collaboration will be crucial in acheiving this aim. Using our open-source approach, investigators have adopted the GenOMICC protocol for use in Pakistan. Contact madiha.hashmi@zu.edu.pk to express interest in establishing recruitment at your site.

Recruitment requires consent, a single blood DNA sample and a very short online CRF.
